  Those look like solid CD players. I never gave up on CD and have been collecting since the mid 1980s. I don’t buy many CDs simply because there’s not much more I need. Great video!

  Nostalgia. I actually flew to Hong Kong in 1983 to purchase the first commercially available CD player, the Sony CDP-101 (I worked for an airline back then). One observation regarding streaming vs. CDs:  As a life-long classical music lover I can state with some authority that much of the classical music I have enjoyed over the years is not available on any of the streaming services but was released on CDs. I still keep my eyes open for rare classical treasures on CD (which I will immediately rip once in hand).

  First CD player I bought was a Teac in the early 80's, can't remeber the model number. Owned one ever since, currently an Audiolab CDT6000. I have not stopped buying CD disks either.

  It's funny that Death Magnetic was chosen as the demo CD, the worst offender in the Loudness Wars, considered the worst sounding album of all. Thanks for the review, the Discdreams look great! It's so much easier to make a modern sensibly priced one that performs excellently vs. a cassette deck. I would love to see a much more extensive LED/LCD display, or if I can dream, a VFD.

  Last year I purchased the top-of-the line CD/SACD players and have amassed just under a 100 SACD’s which are definitely my favorite music medium. There’s a place in my life for both LP’s and HiRes Lossless streaming, but the joy I get from my Denon takes the cake!

  I own a CD player and have stopped using it regularly in the last three years.  I now play records again and life is good.  Keeping all my CDs though because I use them in my rusty old car 😂.

  I can recommend retrieving the old CD player from the loft method.  Mine, a Sony from 1989, needed some minor repairs, and a good clean, but now works beautifully.

  I never ended being comfortable with streaming services, but also I didn&apos;t have access to CDs where I live, at least not of the music that I like, so end up becoming a kinda Ipod/mp3 player listener since I got my first phone, I used to download the music directly from youtube and then I became a pirate from almost aaaaall my teenager days, very recently is when I started to buy music from bandcamp and then buying CDs also from bandcamp thanks that a found a CD/DVD album release from evanescence that is completely legit sneaking around the corners of my house searching for an old DVD player, and although I don&apos;t have a really &quot;decent&quot; gear to listen to it, I just couldn&apos;t help myself I watched the entire concert directly from my old but charming Panasonic CTR TV, connected to the old DVD player, and it was so fun and charming.<br><br>And that&apos;s now why I&apos;m so invested into CDs, and basically all physical media, there&apos;s something warm in just holding plastic inside more plastic that contains art in it, and if you take care of them correctly, can last years, even decades. I&apos;m kinda a romanticist, I know, but that&apos;s just my perspective hehe

  I embraced CDs in the 80&apos;s and never ever turned to the dark streaming side, all of my vehicles have CD players/changers and my home HiFi has two 5 disc carousel changers with stand alone DACs. As for vinyl, I retired my Technics turntable and all of my LPs &amp; 45s earlier this year.

  I&apos;ve had a CD player since the first affordable Sony... I think &apos;83. And I still have my &nbsp;the first CD I bought - Beethoven&apos;s 9th (how predictable) and you know what, it sounds as good today as the day I bought it.
