I have had four Teslas in ten years. I have only had to read three invoices and never experienced the issues mentioned in the video.

Tesla replaced the 12Volt Lead Acid Battery with a Lithium Ion battery in 2022.

Jeesus, Tesla looks like an ICE car in your opinion.... Who would have thought/hoped that??? The rest of the OEM's!

The new lithium small battery gives the car computer information for when it’s time to replace it. You don’t have to guess, you don’t have to swap at 4 years. The car will tell you when it’s time.

When the Internet started, I thought it would improve civilization by allowing people to communicate. I overestimated people’s honesty. This ridiculous spin and showing a smoke filled frunk on the thumbnail is the result. Try this same spin on any ICE car - you would have so much more to work with. 2 Teslas with a combined 235K miles and I have NEVER pressed the ‘go’ pedal without the expected result. Most American made car on the planet.

I just bought a certified preowned Tesla Model 3 from Tesla, with less than 15,000 miles on it. I have to admit, I was apprehensive when I read Tesla's description of what could be issues with a CPO car from them - but realistically, the car is in much better shape than what their website indicates COULD have been wrong with it. So far, I'm quite happy - especially since the price I paid is below both blue book and what my credit union valued the car at.

The Tesla hate is getting old. People act like one model-specific issue means every Tesla is junk, but somehow every other manufacturer gets a free pass. Ford has cam phaser issues ($2k–$4.5k), GM has AFM lifter failures ($4k–$8k), Nissan has CVT failures ($4k–$7k), BMW has timing chain repairs ($4k–$10k), Mercedes has balance shaft failures ($4k–$7k), Honda has head gasket issues ($2k–$4.5k), and Toyota has timing cover leaks or frame corrosion that can cost thousands.

And that’s before we even talk about normal maintenance and simple repairs. A BMW electric water pump can cost $1,200–$2,000. A Mercedes air suspension strut is often $1,500–$3,000 per corner. A Ford 10-speed transmission valve body replacement can run $1,500–$3,000. A Honda A/C compressor replacement is commonly $1,200–$2,000. A Toyota steering rack replacement can easily be $1,500–$2,500. A Nissan A/C compressor or steering rack can be $1,000–$2,000. Even replacing brakes on some BMWs and Mercedes models can cost $1,500–$3,000 at the dealer.

Every manufacturer has known weaknesses. The only difference is that when it’s a Ford, Toyota, BMW, Mercedes, Honda, Chevy, or Nissan, people call it “maintenance” or “a known issue.” When it’s a Tesla, suddenly the internet acts like they’ve uncovered the biggest scandal in automotive history. Be consistent.

You don]t go to a Tesla showroom to buy a car. They have showrroms that you can look at cars or arrange a test drive but the staff will not sell you a car, you do it on line at home.

Why keep dunking on Tesla? I have had most of these issues on other cars. My Pontiac window wouldn't roll anywhere because Pontiac used a plastic washer in the assembly.
