Tire pressures should always be taken when the car tires are cold if you're trying to match the preferred temperature printed on the tire. Typically in the morning before you drive the car for the first time that day. On a Tesla, as soon as you drive 40 or so yards (after the car has sat for 3+ hours) or when first using the car that day, the pressure indicators are reactivated and will show the current tire temperature. If you have the tire pressure screen activated, you can see in real time that only take seconds for the refreshed tire pressure readings to show when you start driving.
