  I have been into the necropolis and stood in front of the tomb of St Peter. It is the most incredible place I have ever been.

  Dude this is amazing. I live south of Rome and have been to Vatican City many times, but due to my small children, I’ve never been into the actual basilica. This further convinces me I just HAVE to get in there! Our son is even named after St Peter. <br><br>Thanks for all your amazing videos!!

  Manuel, you are absolutely the right tour guide for this incredible project. &nbsp;Congratulations on the Microsoft sponsorship. &nbsp;Your videos are my favourite on YouTube, and I&apos;ve never taken the time to say thanks until now. &nbsp;To answer your question, my favourite part of the Vatican is a part I&apos;ve never seen, the actual tomb of &nbsp;Peter, which you have shown so well. &nbsp;Many thanks from Canada and keep up the good work, our architectural brother!

  Back in 1990, while stationed at the base in Naples, Italy, I took a weekend seminar class for my Italian Degree. &nbsp;It was entirely focused on the Vatican. &nbsp;We trained up from Naples, stayed overnight, and then early in the day went to the basilica. &nbsp;Toured it in incredible depth and breadth.. INCLUDING descending through the Papal grotto, and down into the Necropolis, and then eventually coming up to a space where we could look through a small window exactly at that spot where those bones are shown. &nbsp; I got to see that with my own eyes 34 years ago.. I am so happy others will get to at least virtually see it now.<br><br>That same day we took the elevator up to the roof and then climbed stairs that wind up inside the outer surface of the dome, to the big ass cupola/observation space. &nbsp; Once down at ground level the instructor dismissed the class, but offered extra credit to anyone nutty enough to walk around the entire outer walls of Vatican CIty. &nbsp;I did so, and we had fun trying to identify from the special markers, which pope built which wall or structure. &nbsp;We barely made it into the Vatican Museum in time to sprint down the long halls and get into the Sistine Chapel about 15 minutes before closing.<br><br>In one day I went from the deepest excavated space beneath the Vatican, to the highest point, and then all the way around the walls!
