Just imagine how much could have been built with all that concrete if not used for war. It's also amazing that both of the largest concrete companies in the world are from Switzerland and France.

There was ONE bunker at Humboldthain/Gesundbrunnen station. TWO at the Zoo, (one of which was the control and radar for all three,) which are gone, and ONE at Friedrichshain, now also a Bunkerberg. (hill). In Vienna there are still 4 similar left.

This was started to be taken out before the German collapse. After the war, this stone was used for different road projects, among a main road leading down to Arendal. Whenever I drive this road, I am thinking "I now drive on Hitler's victory monument"

the Structure in Nuremberg is now used as the grandstand of a Motorrace on the start/finish line of the Norisring and there is a Musicfestival called Rock im Park

My wife and I snuck into the flak tower in Hamburg. Amazing place. It now is filled with shops. That tower has fully functioning elevators and so on. Very clean and well kept all around. We could not get on the roof. The doors were locked and Eintritt Verboten. Soem outfit wanted to convert it to a hotel but was unable to install windows.

I hate myself for saying it considering what they represented, but many of these buildings are beautiful. I think the modern term for it is 'brutalist architecture'.
