How can we rely so much on research studies when they are so flawed?

I started HRT 6 months ago (47 years old) and it changed my life. My insomnia disappeared, my hot flashes disappeared, brain fog gone, weight loss was a reality again, and the horrific periods that quite literally stopped my life every month decreased to a more manageable flow, and finally I’m no longer anemic (for the first time in 20 years). I mean just flipping amazing!! My GYNO shut me down 4 times (each time I brought it up) so I had to go to an online company to get it, that’s so upsetting!! So glad I listened to my intuition after doing a ton of research.

My wonderful GYN put me on HRT (she's now retired). Everything was great until we moved and my new general PA immediately told me to stop HRT going on and on about the risk of cancer. Well, within a short time my husband noticed I was forgetting things. The nurologist we saw tried 2 different meds that ultimately gave me uncontrollable diarrhea. I stopped taking it and started researching on the internet. That's when I stumbled onto the 2022 HRT study and made an appointment with my GYN to go back on it!!! He did not hesitate to prescribe it!! Took a little bit because I'd been off for about 3 years but then it kicked in!!! My Brain/Memory is BACK!!!! When I last saw the neurologist the plan was to try another drug but once he witnessed my cognitive improvement he changed his mind and decided to wait and see a few months down the line. Even though I'm a few years older, my brain is no longer foggy!!! I can and do remember things!

I was on birth control for over thirty years. I think they helped me so much with perimenopause symptoms because I didn't really notice any at all. I went off the birth control pill a year ago at 51. I just hit one year without a period. The doctor has prescribed me a Combipatch as HRT and I have yet to fill the prescription because of the fear of cancer and side effects. (Even though I now have a long list of symptoms, the most pronounced being joint pain.) But it's like Dr. Malone said...I was on birth control for such a long time! And HRT is a lower dose! What am I thinking?! Conversations like these are important, and they help so much when we are making these decisions. Thank you, ladies! ❤️

Great conversation! Thank you, ladies. ❤<br> I cried when Dr. Malone said, "Don't worry about your weight. Focus on your health." As a product of the 80s & 90s, I am ALWAYS worried about my weight! Where I had my last child at 39, and couldn't get the baby weight off fast enough I knew I was in a different stage in my life. I do resistance training, take HRT, and eat healthy. I have 3 young daughters and I TRY to keep the motto going, "strong, not skinny," but I do have to say transitioning to an older woman is HARD! 😢

Im 41 and an 8 year triple negative breast cancer survivor. I’m so grateful for this information and the conversation you are having about menopause! I did Lupron injections during chemotherapy to preserve ovarian function and went into full-blown chemical menopause for a year. It was horrific and happened almost overnight. Fast-forward a few years later, I had my miracle baby at 36 but soon after I had what I thought were “mild” symptoms of what I went through on Lupron, and told myself to tough it out because of the outdated information about the WHI study 🤦🏻♀️ I just started HRT after a conversation with my oncologist and OB/GYN. I suffered during breast cancer and I was not about to suffer the next 4 to 10 years through night sweats, insomnia, brain fog, joint pain, anxiety, you name it I’ve got it symptoms! These conversations with professionals are SO critical. Thank you! 💗

Also, why aren’t all women offered vaginal estrogen at a certain point as preventative care if it can only help support wellness?

One of the most detrimental to women's bodies is osteoporosis. Many Rheumatologists did not recommend hormone replacement. They rather have business and see their patients have broken bones than to see them healthy
