Please bring this doctor back. She seems phenomenal. She was on some other menopause podcast but the host kept interrupting her. So I appreciate that Tamsen gives her plenty of time to educate this audience with zero interruption. Talk about quality podcast and host. Thank you Tamsen.

This show makes me want to cry. I am 44, have been in peri for 5 years, and have been denied help multiple times. My last OB said don't start treatment until you are desperate. I am beyond desperate, and I am still waiting for a new doc appointment. My PCP wouldn't help. This is cruelty and pure suffering. I cannot wait until my next appointment. I know exactly what to ask for, and I am going to get it.

UPDATE: Yes, this is in the US, and I finally got help through Midi. My NP is probably the most empathetic medical professional I have ever met. I highly recommend them.

20:19 I was born in the 70’s and always wondered why some older women were balding and had deep voices. It’s awful that it seems they were given high levels of testosterone.

It’s 2025 and we are just scratching the surface on menopause and perimenopause. It’s a real shame. I’m turning 49 next month and have only learned in the past YEAR that my last 10 years of unexplainable symptoms has been perimenopause. I had on-and-off heart palpitations for years that caused my Dr to put me on anti anxiety medication. I had hot flashes but I just thought I “ran hot” sometimes. I was gaining weight easily and constantly had to diet. In the last year I got hit with the worst fatigue ever. I could barely get off the couch. But it wasn’t until I couldn’t sleep that they finally started to listen.

I am just now, at 48, using an Estrogen patch. It changed my life. I’m really angry that this wasn’t talked about or even suggested to me when I came in so many times about so many issues over so many years. We are suffering for no reason.

This is amazing!!! I’m a 44 year old husband, and my wife is in full peri. This episode has really helped me understand better what she is going through and given me a better starting point on how to support her through this period in her life and I hope will help bring us closer in the process.

Thanks!!

Yes, I haven't had a drop of alcohol in the last two years, I don't eat past 7 pm and I exercise every morning and take a walk in the afternoon. Topping that with HRT and I'm living my best life doing my MSc in Health Promotion for women in Menopause transition. Thank you, dr. Haver, you are my saviour and my inspiration ❤

I went into menopause at 47. I am now 62. Within the first 10 years after menopause, I asked my gynecologist on multiple visits for HRT, specifically something for painful sex. She gave recommendations for a lube. Not once did she mention vaginal estrogen. She has since retired. I hope she realizes now how wrong she was. I wish these doctors were around for us baby boomers 10 years ago. I want to cry. But it has also sparked a fire in me to help educate my daughter, my nieces. I am going to find a way to become involved in the new menopause movement and help the next generation. I am so fired up!! 🔥🔥🔥

Oh my god, all those questions ... finally I get some answers...
You know, Germany is still so behind that Menopause topic... They are still blind and say... you are just 40... there is no way, that you are already in perimenopause... 😠🤨
Very frustrating... and the discussions to get [blood] tests... if you don't pay it yourself, you get medical gaslighted a lot..

This is great and very informative but the challenge for most women is finding someone in our area who specializes in menopause and can prescribe all these amazing therapies to give us a better quality of life during menopause.
