Rural Mendocino County Northern California. I keep my chest freezer just like yours and we eat like this, except I have an apple and a pear tree and cut up and freeze the fruit to use for healthy cheap desserts. I'm 71 years old and this is the only way we can live on social security. Thank you for your videós.

I love that you call me mija, even though I think I'm older than you, lol. I learned a lot of the same techniques for eating well on a tight budget from my mother, who grew up on a farm during the Great Depression. Thank you for sharing your valuable information.

I’m going to do the eggs. My chickens have been laying like crazy and I was just telling my husband that we have to figure out a way to preserve them. I have about 6 dozen I need to do. What a nice video, thank you

Listening from Austin TX. My mom would buy beef by half a cow. She would freeze beef and all garden veg. She would work hard in summer and fall. Then we would eat all winter and early spring. My granny store tomatoes under her bed in the fall. She had fresh tomatoes for Christmas dinner.

Frozen cheese is crumbly when it's defrosted. I simply crumble it onto my dish without bothering to grate it. You might want to cut your block into smaller portions before freezing it.
