Pasta e fagioli is a delicious Italian soup that is filling and inexpensive. The name literally means pasta and beans. This is all it takes. A can of tomatoes, pasta, a can of beans or 1 1/2 cups of cooked beans, some chopped onion, mixed, Italian seasoning (oregano, basil, rosemary, marjoram), beef broth (or water and boullion cube), salt and some grated parmesan. There are lots of recipes available online. You can add meat, but it isn't necessary and the original versions didn't. It's inexpensive but doesn't taste cheap. Your family will ask for second helpings.

The information in these videos is very good but why are the videos so inconsistent??? In the potato soup portion, the potatoes are peeled and cut up and the next portion shows the potatoes whole and unpeeled?? And this happens over and over!! WHY??? Come on! This info is too important! Why screw it up with like this??

Chicken & dumplings, Goulash, Tuna pot pie, Scalloped potatoes, Vegetable soup, biscuits & gravy, I can deer. With beef prices, deer is amazing!

add some oil to the potato peels from the soup throw them on a cookie sheet add salt and bake until crisp. no waste

My mom would have Creamed Tuna on toast when things started to get tight - also the potato soup you mentioned, and sometimes we had baked potato night. But the creamed tuna was my sisters favorite - canned tuna, heated with milk, cheese, maybe some flour, and some frozen peas added - all over toast. It was pretty good!

Tomato soup and toast. Oatmeal. Tuna sandwich or hot dish. Cheese sandwich or grilled cheese. Egg on toast or scrambled eggs. Buttered noodles. Meatless chili. Soup. Baked potato. Boiled potatoes with butter, salt, pepper.
