Once everyone is settled down, my husband and I will watch an episode of a show we like-- limit it to one-- then get ready for bed with red light filters over the lamps and low lighting, avoid screen time (i have an audio book all ready to play as i fall asleep), and then we pray together. It's a ritual that helps us leave the world's concerns behind. Always include prayer and contemplation as a way to be thankful for all of the good things in our life. (This is after I've written down all the tasks I have to do the next day.)

A stool test can absolutely show your level of gut inflammation, leaky gut, IGG. I did one in December and it was extremely comprehensive.

One of the hardest and most misaligned messages sent to women is eat in a deficit and lift weights. That is horrible because you can't grow muscle in a deficit if this is what has shifted in body composition. There needs to be a reloading phase. My trainer, who ironically is male, totally changed my perspective. He has helped me gain muscle and maintain weight at 2k calories instead of the 1600 that is shoved down women's throats. Hence, the no scale moving while doing all the things. He is setting me up to successfully "cut" after building up genuine strength. You can't build in a deficit, which is the core to healthy metabolism.. if you are training heavy, you need to eat and get back the muscle you have lost from age. And lifting to failing 3-4 times a week, then cut into a deficit. It's a whole other animal.

The problem with fermented foods...you can react to them. Kefir gives me hives.
