Stage 4 breast cancer patient here. This was a very interesting watch. I was given 3-5 years to live and told to take the word remission out of my vocabulary, so I did. Now I'm in year 6 and currently in remission as of April this year.

Imagine editing something so important and sensitive as this and then deciding to blast elevator music over the voices of dying people.

Seeing the one guy get crushed emotionally talking about the death of a beloved pet while talking about his own death like you're having a casual beer with him was rough man.

We had a chain smoking guy at my work driving trucks about 25 years ago. He was in my truck and started coughing up blood. He was short and very fat. He told us he had cancer. I went to work a month later and he was at work . I saw him and told him, boy you look great great. What diet are you one. He gave me a huge hug. He told me most drivers didn't know what to say. He died the next day. Rip Stepie.

In Canada we have legalized euthanasia for terminally ill people. They in general define the conditions as being intolerable suffering which I think is very personal. I believe people have the right to decide for themselves that they are tired, that they don't want to "fight anymore". They have the right to lay down their arms. We can choose how we live, and we can choose not to accept treatment, we should be able to choose how we die.

I've watched this so many times. And every time, when John talks about his two - five years, hopeful that he will make it to five, it warms my heart for him knowing he lived SEVEN years. He beat the odds.

I'm not afraid of dying. I'm afraid of the last 72 hours,

I've done hospice care for family and friends. It's not death that's the concern, it's pain management.

If you're in the stage of multiple organ failure, pain meds are NOT metabolized and nothing can touch the pain.

At that point there are few options.

My plan to to exit before I get to that stage.

The redheaded guy is very wise when he suggests reframing ignorant comments as, "I care about you and am hoping this will be helpful."
