  I don't have tons of cash to layout for the eco flow but I wanted something for hurricanes in Tampa.  So I started buying pecrons over the last 3 years.  They got me thru Milton with no worries.  My bedroom was cold at night fridge and freezers ran all week, microwave, laptops,  toaster oven.  Got a champion dual fuel inverter generator for backup in case of no sun.  In this day age of crazy ai power demands these stations are becoming a must.  I am to old to try to sleep with no ac in Tampa during summer with no ac.  Not happening!  Lol

  This is exactly what I did. A small and reliable Honda Generator and a decent power station. A great solution imo.

  Trick to Extend Run-Time: &nbsp;If you use your power bank to run a fridge and/or freezer (daily or during power outages), extend run-time by putting them on timers.<br>Plug a timer that has multiple on-off cycles directly into the AC outlet port.<br>Plug the fridge or freezer into the timer (use extension cords as needed).<br>Set the timer for a fridge to run for an hour and then shut off for 2 hrs, repeating this cycle over a 24-hr period.<br>Set the timer for a freezer to run for an hour and then shut off for 7 hrs, repeating this cycle over a 24-hr period.<br>By cycling power this way, you’ll keep your food cold/frozen while extending the run-time of your power bank.

  I&apos;ve already done much of what you recommend. &nbsp;6 AWG wire on my 30A genny inlet plug. &nbsp;Inverter window a/c unit which draws a max of 500w, typically 80-200w, easily run by a battery backup. &nbsp;AnkerSolix F3800 with Home Power Panel to handle the critical circuits during an outage, strategic lights, all fridges and freezers, will give me 1-1.5 days. &nbsp;A 9000w dual fuel inverter generator to recharge the F3800 and the rest of the house in the meantime, maybe 1-2 hours for a recharge, then shut off until a recharge is needed again. &nbsp;Spare propane bottles ready, and 25 gallons of non-Ethanol fuel. &nbsp;Soft start on the 4 ton a/c. &nbsp;Sounds like overkill, but after having no power on multiple occasions for 7+days after hurricanes, I have no worries.<br><br>One thing I can recommend is a battery powered cooler. &nbsp;I have an AnkerSolix 58L cooler which will run for 100 hours on 2 batteries when set at 34*, and easily recharges from a 100w solar panel, your car or a spare car battery. &nbsp;Extra fridge capacity that uses so little power is always useful.

  I am a Bahamian and I have been through many storms including Dorian. I am investigating Battery back up systems and your information is invaluable. I do recommend Inverter Split AC systems for homes versus a wall unit for AC.

  Our central a/c unit died recently. We have two stories, about 3200 s/f. We opted not to spend $8,000 to replace it. We already had some window units. We like &quot;zoned&quot; a/c. &nbsp;We bought a couple more (with remote controls) and are very happy.<br><br>Total cost? Less than $1,000!

  We lose power here a few times a year lasting from a few hrs to a day where i live. But have recently purchased two power stations as the budget allows. Plan on running fridge, freezer, charge phone and LED lights when power goes out. Have a Westinghouse 4000 watt inverter generator. It&apos;s easy for my wife to get running and hook things up till I get home from work. Like your idea of putting in a transfer switch. Tks for the tips. Will look into the inverter AC unit&apos;s to put into a window downstairs for comfort in an emergency. The video was very good. I would just add having a power outage alarm plugged into a socket near where you sleep so you know when the power goes out. Hate to wake up at 5am and finding out the power has been out since 11pm. Extra precaution.

  Great video outlining how a small fuel efficient generator can supplement your battery generator. One thing I noticed at your home, and this is very common in beach homes. The elevated AC condenser you show in your videos is mounted underneath a deck. This is breaking an absolute rule of efficient operation. The heated discharge air from your condenser is being blown into the bottom of your deck and that hot air is being recirculated and fed back into the sides of your condenser. The condenser requires the coolest ambient air possible drawn into the side coils in order for efficient operation. A simple solution would be to extend your elevated platform away from the house, out from under your deck, and allow the condenser discharge air to blow freely away. Your condenser will draw in the coolest ambient air possible from your climate (not the heated air from the condenser discharge). You can prove this by testing the incoming air temp with your current configuration; you will find it super heated because it is under your deck…

  I am just finding this channel as I research power stations. Lots of good info! As an older, single lady with a kid living out in the middle of the woods, I&apos;m trying to do what I can - we need some channels geared to women specifically for all of this.
