  Honestly, forbidden places always make me more curious. Governments say it’s about safety, but sometimes it just sounds like an excuse to keep people from discovering uncomfortable truths.

  That abandoned turnpike is not off-limits. You can go on that end and explored.

  Alvira is completely public.  I've gone there many times and explored a few of the open bunkers.  Alvira happens to be state game lands.  Public access.  Only part of Alvira's off limits because that part of the little ghost town is on federally owned land allotted to FCC Allenwood, a federal correctional complex with three levels of security and work release for the lower levels of security that aren't seen as a danger to society.

  The abandoned turnpike is NOT forbidden is NOT gated at the tunnels😂 I don’t know where people get this information but I visit yearly, even camped out there once and took my motorcycle there with multiple people. The barriers are open just enough for a Motorcyle or person to walk through maybe even a small car but it’s very much legal to visit and check everything out!

  I’ve been inside the Iron Mountain facility. The local company I worked for stored backup tapes there and we needed to restore after a crash. I’m quite certain they didn’t do a background check in the 30 minutes it took me to drive there, after a phone call.  Driving around underground was kind of cool, the streets are indeed named, and signed, and there are stop signs and other traffic markers.

  The PA Turnpike tunnels are not gated and access is not controlled.  Its a bike path and you can go through them.  Laurel Hill is the only one that is closed, they do racecar testing in it.

  When Byberry closed, they released those people into the streets.  Some use to hang around Bridge st. & Pratt st. at the bus & El train depot  , hollering threats & cursing people out.  I have no idea where they were staying once they upgraded that area.

  I live about 20 minutes from the Iron Mountain site. &nbsp;I&apos;ve been inside, working on servers and my son worked there for the former Mellon Financial corp, and it&apos;s true, you don&apos;t get in unless you belong there. No background check unless you&apos;re getting a job there. &nbsp;Among their tenants are also CBS and a privately-owned coffee house for the people there who&apos;d like a coffee or a coffee drink. &nbsp;Not Starbucks, thankfully, local to the mine.<br><br>Fun fact: among those photos stored is the famous one of Albert Einstein sticking his tongue out.

  The &quot;abandoned&quot; turnpike tunnels are not gated, the road leading to the tunnel are gated so that you dont bring vehicles, but you can walk and bike the trail. You can walk through the tunnels, but be careful, cement does fall from the ceiling and there are drainage openings you can fall into. If you know what you&apos;re doing, you can find your way into the ventilation shafts above, but you can fall through if not careful. Definitely a cool pandemic venture.

  The Iron Mountain was on an episode of Ozzy and Jacks world Detour, This is where Ozzy&apos;s original recording of Blizzard of Oz is stored, They played Crazy Train for Ozzy when he and Jack went there.

  Eastern State Penn is really cool to tour, been there 2-3 times. Al Capone was sentenced (before or after, I can&apos;t remember) there from Alcatraz Prison, out of all the cells they have there that you can walk through, his is the only one that&apos;s been properly maintained and the gate is locked. His cell was furnished really well, too.<br>One of the places you can&apos;t get to is death row, which you cant really look in to it as it&apos;s up a flight of stairs, I think.<br>And Capones cell is right next to the wardens office.
