The title is misleading. The Poconos may not be a honeymoon destination anymore, but between My Airy Casino, all the water parks, The Crossings Outlet, Camelback, and auto racing, the roads are so congested, we locals have to travel the back roads to get where we want to go. The honeymoon phase was never like that.

My marriage that started here lasted 60 wonderful years until my husband passed 5 yrs ago. We stayed in 1961 at the Pocono Large. It’s gone now but my memories there will never be forgotten❤😊

Watching this while currently living in the Poconos, moved to PA in 1995 and loving that decision. Thank God for allowing me to live in such a beautiful state.

Saw a similar story about the decline of the Catskills resorts. Amazing how fast these resorts were built, became popular and then were abandoned.

In 1969 our high school Deca ( Distributive Education Clubs of America) went on a weekend trip to Mount Airy Lodge from outside of Pittsburgh. From what I can remember it was fantastic. High school kids away from home in the Poconos! I remember, I got chosen to be in a fashion show and had a great time walking the runway....lol. Ahhh what memories!

I grew up living on Lake Wallenpaupack in the 70’s & 80’s. <br>I’ve had an awesome life, but those will always be the best years I’ve lived!!

I remember reading about the Poconos and heart shaped bathtubs in wedding magazines my older cousins had. To a teenager they looked so fun and romantic.
