  I think this is one of the ships that was perfect; drew not only kept may on her feet, but was also helpful and protective. He never let her get manipulated by Harley and if she did, he would talk some sense into her. I also liked how he never went easy on her and helped a lot for her development

  You also should have mentioned that May's Glaceon in Journeys now has a rose on it's neck. I'm sure Drew gave it to May after seeing it perform in the Wallace cup.

  Drew wasn't just May's rival; he was the reason she kept pushing herself to become better. Their growth together is still one of the most wholesome relationships in the anime. ❤️

  In fact, their relationship was one of the most developed in the series. It was really cool to see how much they matured over time. One thing I noticed is how Drew, in his own way, tries to protect May especially when Harley is around.

  I shipped May and Drew the entire time during this season of the anime. I never got where Advanceshipping came from, Ash and Misty's Pokeshipping was still a thing and I felt Ash and May was more brother and sisterly

  May and Drew were the first characters that I've ever shipped (conciously, at least). My interest in their relationship and my desire for more content was what introduced me to fanfiction, fanart, and the other aspects of fanculture. While I'm sure that I would have discovered fandom spaces eventually, I will forever be grateful to the creatives who were responsible for developing the relationship between May and Drew so well.
