0:19 No, Keanu was quite well known well before The Matrix in 1999. His breakout probably began in 1988 with Dangerous Liasons. After that his big roles included Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure, Point Break, Bill and Ted’s Bogus Adventure, My Own Private Idaho, Bram Strokers Dracula, Speed, Johnny Mnemonic, A Walk in the Clouds, Chain Reaction and The Devils Advocate, and that’s not even an exhaustive list, just the ones I saw.

Also need to see THE ANIMATRIX for the back story. 9 animated shorts by different directors showing aspects of the world and 3 of them directly with what happens in the movies

It wasn’t exactly the power of love. The Oracle said “he’s waiting for his next life maybe” so he died and came back as the One. It’s also been said just the physical stimuli from the real world woke him up. It was more like I love you, therefore you must be The One. And He was. Haha.

Fun Observation: A computer program(the oracle) gives Neo a "cookie" and he eats it updating his "code" , and notice when they are IN the Matrix the screen is tinted green like the old monochrome monitor of the early 90s, when they are in the "real" world the tint is gone...

What always gets me, is how well this holds up in terms of tricks, fights and action sequences.... which gives you a good idea of how far ahead of its time this was in 1999.

The thing they couldn’t use until Neo was out wasn’t to hide. It’s an EMP. It takes out all electronics

I live only a 10 minute walk from where The Matrix was filmed, in Sydney. I have seen about 10 filming locations in real life and see many regularly doing day to day activities.

The fight choreographer later did the award-winning movie "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", and the fight choreography is even better in that one! Definitely recommend checking it out.

Yes, he did begin learning martial arts for this movie - he continued to practice and has gone on to become a well-respected martial artist. You can see him improving through the 3 Matrix movies, then as a true bad-ass in John Wick.
