  There's WAY more Greek mythology reference than most people realise. The Allegory of the Cave being the most obvious, but my favorite small one is the blind man in the lobby where the Oracle lives. He's seated and despite being blind, nods his head at Neo as he passes. This is the blind prophet Tiresias of Apollo! I had a professor in a greek history class spend an entire 90min lecture going over all the amazing references in this movie. Truly one of a kind.

  Everything the Oracle said came true. Neo wasnt the one until he died and came back to life ("you have the gift but its like you're waiting for something, your next life maybe") after Trinity completed the prophecy by admitting she loved Neo ("the Oracle told me I would fall in love, and that that man would be the One"), When he comes back to life we then see him seeing the Matrix in it's code form, something only the One could do, and something that Neo couldn't do before he died.

  Agent Smith is one of the great movie villains. Hugo Weaving is perfect in every role he has ever played.

  I follow a lot of reactors, and I must say you&apos;re by far and away the most perceptive. You recognise the symbolism, extrapolating, theorising, and dissecting as you go - it&apos;s wonderfully refreshing. Also good to know it&apos;s a fellow Brit who&apos;s analysing things so well<br>😂

  As you&apos;ve learned, the impact this movie had on all of cinema is still felt to this day. Groundbreaking may be an understatement lol

  I remember I was in my office one Monday morning in one of the girls I worked with said Hey did you see the matrix? as it had just come out that weekend. I said no, but did you like it and what’s it really about because the trailers really gave nothing away back then. <br>I’m really glad she said what she did... I could try to explain it to you but it’s better if you just experience it for yourself and don’t ask anyone else because they might try to explain it to you, and that will diminish the experience. &nbsp;Much like the line “No one can tell you what the Matrix is, you have to be shown… loose paraphrase I’m sure)<br>I totally agree. it was really kind of mind blowing movie at the time

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0j9bfIAPi70&amp;t=4082">1:08:02</a> LOL at “I feel like my brain has done 10,000 sit ups.” I know that feeling— I saw this in the theater in 1999. Something else we wanted to see was sold out so we randomly chose The Matrix instead. Went in completely cold and walked out completely wowed.
