Our apologies for how the picture in picture looks for this one. It was really difficult to get this reaction up on YouTube but it was too good not to keep trying! Hope you enjoy the reaction as much as we enjoyed watching the movie. Happy Halloween! 🎃

Anne Rice wrote this book as a way to channel her own grief from the death of her daughter. The girl died young, around Claudia's age, and Louis's eternal grief is Rice's own. Her husband read the manuscript, looked at her and said, "Our lives will never be the same."  And he was right.

I wish Tom Cruise would make more movies like this nowadays.

I dont remember the novel exactly but i think Claudia was 65 years old when she tried to kill Lestat. So practically she lived an entire human life already. She has the body of a child but the mind of an elder woman.<br>This movie is one of the best adaptation from a book never done. Its fantastic and kind of underrated.

Fans of the novel practically rioted when Tom Cruise was cast as Lestat, with most apologizing after seeing the film.

Unlike most vampire movies depict, these vampires do not immediately lose their humanity. &nbsp; That&apos;s why Pitt was in conflict with taking lives early on. &nbsp; It&apos;s not about &quot;woe is me... I&apos;m a vampire.&quot; &nbsp; It&apos;s also the same reason the &quot;mother&quot; at the end was still protective of her &quot;daughter&quot; when they were put to death in the sunlight.

The theater in Paris, and the plays they put on in the movie, are based on a real theater trend of the era, Theatre of the Macabre, and specifically the Grand Guignol, one such theater in Paris that featured death, sex, and gore in stories of gothic horror and the grotesque, and even real life stories of grusome murders. This was the period of gothic horror and the rise writers like Poe, Stoker and Lovecraft, not to mention real people like Jack the Ripper.

It is my favorite &apos;vampire film&apos;. Absolute gorgeous cinematography. That opening San Francisco sequence is stunning with &apos;Libera Me&apos; playing in the background. So beautiful !!

River Phoenix was going to play the character, Daniel Malloy, the interviewer, but sadly passed away from a drug overdose on n 1993. His friend Christian Slater was cast and the film was dedicated in his memory.

A lot of people find true vampire movies campy in a sense because they still look at vampires as mortals. As having mortal feelings and habits and desires. In a way that is true. They retain some vestiges of their &apos;humanity&apos; from before, some more than others. Louis was so attractive to all the vampires because he was the most human of them all. He managed to retain his humanity even after so many immortal years as a vampire, and after facing so many deaths and perversions of his loved ones.

This and Collateral show how Cruise can kick ass as a villain also. Really freaky and good film, my favorite vampire movie. Kirsten Dunst does her best performance here in my opinion and Brad does great work as the most calm character
