for those unfamiliar with the books - its important to know this story, is Louis' version of events. the second book in the series is called (The Vampire Lestat) and it's Lestats' version of events and FAR different in many points.

lastly, Interview was written in 1976. nearly 50 years ago.

now you say:

thank you boomers. ;)

:face-pink-drinking-tea:

MAJOR SPOILER BELOW!!
-
-
-
-
-
- SPOILER ALERT!!-
- SPOILER ALERT!!-
despite his young age, it is likely Louis that was strong enough to slay every vampire in Armands coven all by himself (except Armand) and this is because Lestat made Louis AFTER he drank from Akasha - the Queen of the Damned, giving him unprecedented strength. Drinking from her is also how he survived Claudia and Louis attack and the swamp dumping.

Anne Rice wrote the novel Interview With the Vampire as a form of therapy. The character of Claudia is based on a tragedy in her life.
When Anne was a young woman, she dreamed of being a writer and wrote when she could, even starting a short story for a writing class that was the basis for the novel. However, she married and was happy with her husband, Stan. They had a beautiful daughter named Michele, who was the light of their lives. Unfortunately, Michele got leukemia and died when she was 6 years old. It wrecked Anne and Stan, and Anne threw herself into writing Interview as a novel. As she did, she created the character of Claudia, a child vampire who would live forever. The writing of the book helped her heal from the tragedy, and later she and Stan had a son named Christopher, who is a novelist, Anne's literary executor, and co-producer of the few AMC television series based on Anne's work. From the 1980s through the 2000s, Anne Rice was on the best-seller lists for her books The Vampire Chronicles (13 books), The Mayfair Witches (3 books with 3 crossovers with the Vampire books), and many others ranging from literary horror to literary erotica (the four Sleeping Beauty books, Exit To Eden, and Belinda all fall in this category). 37 novels, 1 autobiography, and 100 million books sold. Anne died in 2021.

For her performance in Interview with the Vampire, Kirsten Dunst won the MTV Movie Award for Best Breakthrough Performance and the Saturn Award for Best Young Actress, in addition to receiving a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress

I believe that the theater scene, by undressing the girl before killing her, the scene is more disturbing, the discomfort of the victim aware that she is about to die is emphasized by the fact that she is stripped naked, furthermore Armand is handing her over to around twenty vampires who will have to bite her everywhere therefore it is also a practical question. So I don't think it's a random nude scene. Some currents of thought in fashion today very often limit rather than enrich.

They can remake this all they want. Or continue with making other adaptations of Anne Rice's other books. But they will NEVER touch this movie. It is a perfect orchestration.

Anne Rice was initially upset when Tom Cruise was cast as Lestat, thinking Cruise didn't possess the gravitas and range to do justice to the character. After she saw the movie, she recanted, saying that Cruise had delivered a wonderful performance.

I only wish that sequels had been made, based upon her other novels.

One of my favorite roles of kirsten Dunst. When she is flipping out during the doll scene and cuts her hair you really can see a 40 year old stuck in a childs body. Icredible acting.

Tom Cruise's vampire is something special.
No actor has played this character like he did, before or since.

They undressed her in the theater because it was a theater. They weren't just putting on a show, they were charging admittance. They want people to go out and talk about the show they saw, to send others to see it. If you went to a random play, not expecting much of anything, and you saw that, wouldn't you talk about it?
