  The death of Claudia was basically Anne Rice processing her grief of losing her daughter to leukemia. In the book Claudia is actually physically about five. The age her daughter was when she died.

  Anne Rice has done a game changer on the description of vampires as beautiful monsters with a touch of class. She really made a contrast between horrific monsters and beautiful deceitful human like creatures.

  Anne Rice initially hated the choice of Cruise as Lestat but once she saw his performance in a screening she bought 8 pages of advertising in the movie industry magazine the Daily Variety to gush about how wrong she was.

  Guys you have to watch the show. My favorite vampire book AND movie is Interview with the Vampire. And while the show makes changes, it is still so respectful to the source material and is amazing. It's also very gay. No undertones at all. All overtones lol.

  Your missing a pretty important detail with Lestat and Louis early relationship. Lestat isn't throwing the killing into Louis face or trying to reveal in the killing, he's throwing an intervention and doing a shit job of it. Louis vegetarian lifestyle is slowly killing him as bounces between getting too weak to function and loses control of himself and attacking everything in sight like he did with his loyal maid. The whole while he's leaving a massive trail that an idiot can follow right back to the two of them and bringing the mob to them. Lestat is trying to teach Louie how to function as a vampire, a fate Louie CHOSE, and Louie is doing everything in his power to make Lestat's life hell for it because he now has buyer's remorse. Honestly, if Lestat didn't have such extreme abandonment issues and want a companion he would have either abandoned Louie to is fate or killed him by now as Louie isn't doing shit for Lestat besides putting him in danger now that Louie burned all his possessions.

  Claudia's death scene with her brand new "mom" always gets me- even as a kid it made me so sad!

  I like Claudia's curls, I suppose they meant that Claudia was really in bad conditions and when she become vampire she become her best version.
