When it comes to copyright, names of cities, historic names of places, individuals and etc can be used in games as they do not have copyright. Hence why Jormungand was used.

I wonder if it's Wen, one of the elder gods who is associated with ice. In RS3, she was hiding under both White Wolf Mountain and Ice Mountain, so to fix the inconsistency maybe they're moving her up there? The other two are on islands in RS3, so it'd fit more, and would also fit with the "rebirth" thing. I also think they're setting something up with Varlamore and Bik, especially with the Old Ones, their religion was related to the cycle too, and Bik is associated with nature. (She was on Entrana in RS3.)

They've already started setting up the story for Ful, who is supposed to be in the Inferno.

Hati/Skoll and Ranos/Ranul both discovered the eggs, and got visions of the end of the world, Fremeninks are heavily associated with Varlamore too in a way that hasn't been explained much.

edit: Oh and in RS3, the Oracle literally calls the Great Revision "the end of things."

Seems as though Jagex is following the similar Norse mythology that Skyrim follows

Warrior afterlife, prophecy, Nordic references, and birth/death/ kalpic cycles.

They're obviously not going to follow Alduin and all that, excited where we will go though

Good lore video, I was entertained. I did notice a thing around 9:15 where you repeat the same line twice "instead his story becomes entangled with the dragon kin"

Ahh yes, I remember the Runescape Fimblewinter. It came slightly early, but November 20, 2012 was the beginning of the end.
