"Merciful death. How you love your precious guilt." I love how this one phrase wraps up Louis' character so much. Book Lestat is called the Brat Prince for a reason. He wants problems and loves it when he drives the people he cares about crazy. In that way he's almost like a teenager who's learned early on that negative attention is better than being ignored. (Yes there's reasons for that, and yes it's spoilers for the 2nd book.)

Kirsten Dunst acting in this movie is absolutely insane, knowing that she was only 11 years old. Can't believe she didn't get an Oscar nom.

Christian Slater took the role when River Phoenix passed away, and donated his entire salary for it to Phoenix's family. Slater was huge in the 90's. I'd suggest watching Pump Up The Volume and Heathers if you want to see more of him. Pump Up The Volume in particular is criminally underrated. It's an amazing coming of age, teen angst movie that holds up today with it's messaging.
