  Finnick’s story in the book is so much more detailed and even sadder. When they won the games and became a “victor” President Snow would pimp out the children to capital citizens. Finnick was the youngest to ever win the games at the age of 14. The books describe him as having movie star looks. Because the capital is so vain, he was the most lucrative to Snow. That’s why those who read the book understood the reference Haymitch made in Catching Fire about Finnick being “the capital darling” and Finnick’s comment to Katniss about her popularity in the capital and how she could have made out so well in the capital. The capital citizens would pay the victors as well. That’s why when Finnick made the comment about not dealing in money anymore, Katniss asked how people paid for the pleasure of his company. He replied “with secrets”. He was building up an arsenal of information on Snow from his inside crew. If the revolution wouldn’t have happened when it did, Peeta and Katniss would have started getting pimped out to the capital after the victory tour ended. It was all just another way for Snow to continue his power and cruelty to the tributes. Even when they “won”, they still weren’t safe and were constantly reminded that Snow “owned” them.

  Phillip Seymour Hoffman died during the filming of the second mockingjay movie. He had completed most of his scenes though so he is in it briefly. They had to change a few things around though after his passing. It was very sad. He was such an incredible actor.

  Hopefully during editing you heard what Finnick was saying because it&apos;s incredibly important to understanding the depth of the evil of the Capital. Finnick won the games at 14 and was immediately forced into prostitution by Snow for his political allies. My understanding is that it&apos;s implied in the books that Joanna has no one left that she loves because she refused and they killed her family, and the woman from Dustrict 2 with the filed teeth did that to avoid that fate. Katniss is horrified by what she is hearing him say in that scene, in large part because of her flippant question to Finnick about &quot;how to be pay for the pleasure of your company?&quot; Snow is a different kind of evil guys, and Finnick&apos;s monologue shows that.

  Yes, there was an epidemic in District 13 that killed a lot of children. Coin, as noted by Prim, lost her child as well as her husband.

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LcbcsLwO6dg&amp;t=439">7:19</a> &nbsp;so that was kind of a visual explanation about how katniss’ dad died. It wasn’t necessarily a premonition of her house being blown up in the future, because as you’ll see you in a second. they left Victor Village alone as a message. But the vision she had when she was tripping off of the tracker jacker venom was just an explanation that her dad died in the mine explosion.

  The age of the actors can often make us forget how young the characters are. She is a teenager and should never have experienced anything she has. It&apos;s amazing she is functioning.

  The building that was standing was the Victor&apos;s house, I believe, that she got for winning. I assume it&apos;s a message to her from Snow that she was the &apos;cause&apos; of District 12 being wiped out.
