  The fact they made the boyfriend a CHEF in the movie, of all professions, makes his character so hypocritical. And in the competitive food scene that is New York? Bro would be missing his OWN birthday - and every single holiday as well.

  I can only speak for myself but if I knew my girlfriend was grinding and giving her all for a job, and she had to miss one birthday celebration, i&apos;d completely understand. We can celebrate later. Honestly her friends and her boyfriend are kinda douche-y. Don&apos;t worry guys, it&apos;s very agreed upon that Nate is meh.

  What I hate the most about Nate is that he made Andy feel incredibly bad for focusing on her career for a short time (it was just going to be one year), and then he goes and follows HIS dream job by moving to another city. Like... are you kidding me?!

  Miranda is based on Anna Wintour, the editor of Vogue, &nbsp;who is known to be notoriously difficult to work for. &nbsp;That&apos;s what the whole book was about the author&apos;s experience working for her.

  Also Andy&apos;s boyfriend is a chef. He should understand more than anyone that when you dedicate yourself to your job/craft, it eats at you. I&apos;ve seen many amazing people be spit right back out by the culinary industry in such disheartening ways. Speaking of which, how was HE available on his birthday?! Or able to have drinks with friends around 7-8 on a weeknight?! If you want to make it as a chef, you&apos;re working 3-10 PM for at least 5-10 years. And even if Miranda was a tyrant, so is every damn chef in downtown Manhattan, so no way he doesn&apos;t know what it&apos;s like.<br>I dislike this guy and her friends

  No, they didn&apos;t visibly show a moment of warmth between Miranda and the twins but they did show how adamant she was to get home for their recital and how visibly upset (to the point of shedding a tear) she was with Andy because she missed it. Also, they showed her speaking on the phone very warmly with one of her girls, calling her an endearing name/nickname, while reassuring she was trying very hard to get the Harry Potter books for them. All to say, I think they did make efforts to indicate her &apos;warmth&apos; toward and love and consistent consideration for her daughters.
