Notice that Haymitch did not say yes - he said I am with the Mockingjay

there’s a quote in the book “That what I need to survive is not Gale's fire, kindled with rage and hatred. I have plenty of fire myself. What I need is the dandelion in the spring. The bright yellow that means rebirth instead of destruction. The promise that life can go on no matter how bad our losses. that it can be good again. And only Peeta can give me that.” 😭😭 it’s just so good. it’s one of the few quotes that has stuck with me over the years. it’s just so good

"Two sides of the same Coin" I'm impressed you guys caught on so quick. The books are even more amazing if you enjoy reading. After Katniss deals with Coin, she pretty well falls into deep grief and insanity. She's locked up for awhile and monitored by doctors, who later claim she had been mentally insane with grief after Prim, so that helped her go home and try recover. It's really quite emotional;; She tried so hard to save her sister

59:30 i couldn't even count the number of reaction videos i've seen where people are so lost as to why Katniss (and consequently Haymitch) vote "yes" -- it's so refreshing to see someone actually get it right away! 😂

I think that Gale gave his nightlock pill to Peeta. So Gale doesn't have one and that's why he wanted Katniss to shoot him.
Fun fact: The kids in the final scene are Jennifer Laurence's nephews.

Every single time I watch this, Katniss screaming at Buttercup makes me sob. She's been the girl who single handedly ensured her family survived - with help from Peeta when he tossed her the bread. She had to be strong for Prim, for her mother. And then suddenly she was alone and in some ways gave herself permission to finally grieve. And in the books, for a while Buttercup and Katniss protected each other throughout the night. It is a massive difference to the beginning - Buttercup was found as a mangy stray, Prim wanted to keep him but Katniss told her they can't afford another mouth to feed. But Prim begged until Katniss relented.

One detail from the books that I really wish they would have kept in this movie is that Katniss was only given one arrow to kill Snow. Because as we've seen, she's fast enough to have killed them both, before taking herself out with her nightlock pill. But in the books, she only could kill one person and had to make that choice.

Finnick’s first word upon meeting Katniss was, “Katniss”. His last word was, “Katniss”
