changing is the worst you can do>>>Just rinse it off if you use them>>>I use plants but a filter I think is necessary ..If I set up a new tank, I try to use a old filter to introduce bacteria to the new tank but I let it filter a week before adding any fish, I usually do not lose fish unless stressed when I order them

Zeolite - I did use it once and killed sensitive fish. The water coming from filter with zeolite killed them. Either don't use it at all or use only the one from aquarium store. I don't recommend it. <br>Safe resque tool for ammonia is Prime water conditioner. It's a well known safe remedy for ammonia in water.

Please don't compare broken terracotta pot to pro ceramic media. Pro ceramic is 7000 times more effective than broken terracotta. Engineered with an open-flow architecture and micro-pores specifically sized for bacteria.

No no leca isn't a "premium biomedia". 😂 Its biofiltration ability is very poor. 30 ppi sponge is 10 times more effective than leca. Leca is used for pots that are placed in aquarium water and terrestrial plants like peace Lily grow in it.
