  Batman Beyond himself was a mandated character. The network told them they had to make a teenage batman, which initially sounds stupid, but the amazing creators made it work. They definitely worked that same magic with Max. I love all of Terry&apos;s friend group.

  I feel like a lot of folks are asking &quot;Who watched the show and didn&apos;t like Max?&quot; When in reality, it was the writers and producers who didn&apos;t like her, simply because she was a problem to be navigated rather than a fun idea. It worked out regardless. Maybe Bruce Timm just didn&apos;t like her and had been pinning it on others lol.

  I liked Max, she was fine.<br>Got to remember Terry wasn&apos;t Bruce, so he didn&apos;t need to follow the same plot points. Terry valued his friends and Max had the smarts allowing her to help him from a distance.<br>And she wasn&apos;t perfect, she made mistakes, so she wasn&apos;t a Mary Sue.

  Without Max, Terry wouldn&apos;t really have &nbsp;had school friends. She&apos;s his brother, like early Richie was to Static.

  Confession: I’m commenting before watching the video. But I thought Max probably appealed to more people than Dana because she knows Terry is &nbsp;Batman, which means she isn’t locked into the typical routine of having to be lied to all the time that Dana is, and is actually involved in the part of Terry’s life most viewers came to see.

  I loved Max and I never heard about people dislike her until now . I always feel glad that this show didn’t come out now because with the way people are now on the internet, yesh.

  I&apos;m one of the majority that loves Max. Whenever it comes to animated shows or any story, I&apos;m usually someone who doesn&apos;t clock if a character is unnecessary or not, or if they ruin the story. I just watch and enjoy. It really never matters to me.

  Batman Beyond was a GEM and Max was awesome. I didn’t know about this. Fun fact for anyone who didn’t know though, Darwyn Cooke made that entire iconic title sequence for Batman Beyond in his basement on his personal Mac with Adobe After Effects😂. Everyone thought they got a special studio to make it.
