I also wish we had the Daiso market here. Thanks for mentioning the dollar tree for spices, but I wonder if they too sit on the shelf a long time because folks never thought about it. I also understand about bulk buying but when it's only you, it would not make sense. Maybe a video on single family homes on foods-laundry detergents and other items. Great video!

I live in small city Northern Ontario. I. Ant get some of these items here, but I can order staples from Amazon. Or make a four hour round trip to the nearest urban centre to an Asian grocery market for fresh items.

I also liked the later point about avoiding individually packaged snacks, since small convenience costs can add up quickly over time. These habits feel practical rather than extreme. Which item from the second half of this list would be easiest for you to stop buying first?

Unfortunately in our small nearby stores we don’t have a specialty but we do have Dollar tree stores???

Next time we travel to the city, I will visit an Asian market for bulk spices, condiments and 18 kg bag of rice from Thailand.<br> fYI rice grown in southern USA where cotton was before , soil is contaminated with left over arsenic used as weed killer., contains higher levels of arsenic in the rice , so only eat in small amounts. <br>I Brands like president. Choice , and Uncle Ben contain blends including the southern rice.<br> I just buy Jasmine rice from Thailand. No arsenic and good rice.

Buy whole foods and cook from scratch 😉<br>Most of the world does this. Not just Japanese. <br>There's no Daiso here. I get my spices from Natural Grocers or Talin Market. They sell bulk packaged spices.
