I dont use a duvet or comforter. I purposely bought a bedspread that fits in a washer and dryer.

I think the ‘American’ ways are portrayed in a way that seems extreme. Not everyone lives that way. Nor are all Japanese people super clean. It won’t resonate if people don’t recognise themselves in it.

I bought a special rectangular cover for may dog and this helps to keep my bed a little cleaner.

I'm Irish, no connection to Japan, and I understand about turning & airing my mattress, washing pillows, etc., daily 😂 it's just common sense

We keep three sets of complete bedding for our master bed. Every Friday morning the whole bed is stripped. Later that day when we arrive home from work a clean set of sheets, pillow cases, shams, and a spread is put on because nothing is better than sleeping in on the weekend in a fresh, clean bed!

I use a mattress cover, but I do make my bed (after I pray) because it’s my second accomplishment of the day, lol. Plus I don’t like things untidy, lol.

Sensible advice that is very helpful. Thank you. It gives some perspective to what my mom and grandma used to do. In France, people open the windows all the time because of the humidity in homes and bedding is hang over windows daily, under the sun. No one I know ever put stuff under the bed and we have mosaic floors. Washing is easier. I wish you had talked about rugs and curtains and dust accumulating on blinds. What about the presence of light? Once again thank you for the very helpful advice. Very good video!

I have feather pillows and duvet I have washed. Dry them with a dry bath towel and dries faster.
