  Ha, I remember that final sad stint with the Cowboys in 2024. The Cowboys had lost lead running back Pollard to free agency and were left with a group of unknown or past their prime free agents at RB. Elliott signed a one year deal, probably thinking that he would easily outclass the other RBs and take over as the starter. Instead, it became immediately evident that Elliott was even slower than before, lacking any hint of the quick burst and break away speed that made him a star in his prime. Rico Dowdle, an undrafted free agent signing, took over most of the carries. Elliott only had value on passing downs because he was a capable blocker against the blitz. Once it became evident he wasn't going to be the featured back, Elliott demonstrated a horrible attitude. He skipped team meetings or showed up late, no longer caring about the team. It became such a distraction that the Cowboys cut him loose before the end of the season. Some over optimistic fans got excited when the Cowboys signed him for that final season, but they remembered the Zeke Elliott rookie version, forgetting how old and slow he looked when he was let go the first time. It was never going to go well, but Elliott's lousy behavior really tarnished his legacy with the Cowboys.
