  It’s easy to dismiss this as nostalgia but Phillip Rivers came off the couch as a grandparent and almost beat the Seahawks who went on to win the Super Bowl. That era of QBs was different 😂

  It really is crazy remembering how accurate Brees was and how great of a qb he was yet he never got an MVP, that along shows how great the talent pool was

  The reason the defenses got so tricky is because all the rule changes favored offenses and made in so imbalanced in the offense&apos;s favor.<br>It made offense &nbsp;soft and lazy, whereas the defenses had to adapt on become more clever to overcome the biased rules.

  Just remember this.<br><br>There was a time when Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, Big Ben, Joe Flacco, Peyton Manning, Alex Smith, Philip Rivers, Tony Romo, Eli Manning, Matthew Stafford, Cam Newton, and Matt Ryan played at the same time.<br><br>Now only Rodgers and Stafford remains. Next year, only Stafford remains.

  There was absolutely something in the water during the era of prime Brady, Manning, Rodgers and Brees. There are some very, very good QBs in the game today, but we may never see the NFL in the state it was in that time frame. There were so damn many elite QBs in the game all at the same time it was mind boggling.

  Lamar Jackson sat behind Flacco his first year, and then when Flacco left, haebaugh retooled the entire offense for him.

  So glad this was made. I still consider the 2011 NFLPA agreement limiting practice times along with some safety rules as elements that favored QBs who had already mastered NFL offenses to generate stats by multiple QBs like we&apos;d never seen in the NFL. There were games where defense was little more than speed bumps as each offense kept scoring.<br> &nbsp;In the meantime new QBs struggled with the decreased practices. So everything favored QBs from the 2000s putting up big stats in the 2010s. New guys coming later in the decade did great with offenses that were just a little less complex so that the QB &amp; the offense could all play together.
