The cleaning fee is such a scam. I used to clean an Airbnb that took me about 2 hours to do everything and I was getting 20/hr. But they charge hundreds. . . It's pure greed.

Last time I used an air bnb we had to wash all the towels, strip all the bedding, load the dishwasher, take out all the garbage and recycling and then for the last two hours of our stay the owner sat outside in his car and watched us and waited for us to leave. It was creepy and annoying as hell.

People don’t mind spending more for things but people HATE being nickel and dimed. I stopped using Airbnb years ago.

I’ll never use Airbnb again. My one and only stay was is Paris. After I left a 5* review I was hit with a £200 damage charge for damage caused by the cleaning team, not us. I declined to pay and went through the whole appeal process only to discover it was AI that I had been dealing with the entire time, not a real person from the customer services. A fucking AI bot decided whether I should have to pay a £200 fee I wasn’t responsible for. My card was charged and I can’t get the money back. Never again.
