  We live 70 years on 70k a year. If we’re lucky. So no, there is no sympathy for losing 60 mill in 15 years. BUT, I do understand how the lifestyle change hits and can mess up your life. But that’s not the same as “ 30 mill ain’t enough to live”. That’s just greed and failing to manage your money.

  If half of them would get a vasectomy or simply put on a condom, they’d save thousands in child support! Also, if they’d read what they sign and stop being so showy they would be alright.

  Financial literacy is easier now than ever before. &nbsp;The problem is that doing nothing and pretending like your money will last forever is even easier. &nbsp;Two or three basic habits would protect their money forever.

  Bill Walsh, former 49’er legendary coach referred all of his players to financial planners. That’s why many 49’er players of that era are doing ok.

  I don’t GAF ! I have absolutely ZERO empathy. <br>Not only have there been stories, and documentaries on this same subject… many of us come from the same financially illiterate backgrounds… poor, or working class…. grow up using food stamps… <br>While I understand the outrageous spending initially, the poor money management skills, I GET IT! Coming from humble beginnings… but one thing I had in front of me were the examples of dozens, hundreds of men, far more successful than myself who’d lost a fortune. <br><br>I was always taught to live below your means! <br>Materialism, and women are the two biggest issues athletes make. <br>Regarding family, don’t buy them things that they can’t maintain themselves… <br>ANYWAY, so tired of these stories, I’ve been hearing about them since my father told me about how Joe Louis, and so many other prominent athletes of his era went broke shortly after their careers were over.

  It&apos;s simple, stop buying expensive cars, jewelry, and going out to clubs. Start looking at post-playing career options for yourself and education for that in the off-season. You only spend that money because you have no direction; that direction is only built through education.
