Using "sexism" as a get-out-of-jail-free card for bad writing is an insult to every woman who has to deal with real life sexism every day.

So glad someone pointed out that it isn't just "The writers don't know how to write women" and actually specifically pointed out what went wrong with the character. They ignored the source material and made a character so flawed and forgot to challenge the main character besides turning off their powers whenever the plot demanded it. It really is like the writers thought they had to coddle previous protagonists to appeal to the audience, so they made them perfect. But then for Kara (the previous ones were just Mary Sued) they just made her just the worst.

My adventures with superman has it right and it’s with a kara that developed into what she is. She thought she was doing right under braniac, and the cost was absolutely gruesome on top of morally mortifying and she developed into something amazing in season two.

1:30 it’s more like your crush saying she doesn’t like you cause she’s into bad bois and hollywoods response is to get wasted and high , steal a car and rob a bank , completely missing the point :T

The fact that the absolute counter-points to Supergirl 2026 is the Supergirl in My Adventures with Superman whose flaws are A) adorable, and B) are actually story-relevant, is airing to much love even as the movie version crashes and burns.

Hollywood used to make successful action heroines like Sigourney Weaver (Ellen Ripley) in Aliens and Sarah Connor in Terminator 2. Then they forgot the formula, and they lost the plot.

Dude I always think I am going to cringe by your delivery, but somehow I resonate with it so well because you never go TOO far into the cringe. Essentially, you stay in the “wholesome” tier of cringe which is right where we want to be!

All things aside, not killing the evil one is evil in itself. Killing the villain spares its future victims.
