Henry J. Kaiser is an important part of US history. After producing naval ships during WWII, he partnered with Joseph W. Frazer to start the Kaiser Frazer Automotive Company and produced the car that was way ahead of its time - the Henry J. Come learn about a rarely seen piece of automotive history. His comment is below: @mrsgstd4637 "Pretty good video but a couple of inaccuracies - The '52 Vagabond models were made of unsold 1951 Henry Js - they had the plastic on the hood ornament changed from clear to black. Most of them received a Continental Spare tire. The upholstery was not upgraded; it was left with whatever was in it before the conversion. I know there's another site that makes this claim that the upholstery was upgraded on the '52 Vagabond but that is not true. Like the Henry J, the Allstate was available with or without an external trunk lid. I don't know where the rumor started that Allstates all had trunk lids but it's not true. The two-base model Allstates did not have an external deck lid. Every Allstate was not all "Sears" blue. The 1952 Allstate was available in 3 colors from KF: Mariner Gray, Glass Green and Horizon Blue (a light blue). In 1953 the Allstate was available in Mariner Gray, Cardinal (maroon) and Sabre Jet blue. The Allstate could not be ordered from the Sears catalog. It was listed in the catalog but in order to purchase one, you had to go into the store. Some stores did take trade-ins. All of the upgrades (arm rests, sun visor etc.) were available on the Henry J as well as the Allstate. The four-cylinder Allstate did not have the full wheel covers; they had the small caps just as the 4-cylinder Henry J did. The last thing, and this is personal pet peeve of mine, it's pronounced "Fra-Zer" not "Fray-Zhur" - he was scottish, not french. Overall, a pretty good video!
