Golden Hawk, hand down the best looking car ever made by an American Car Company. I had always thought that Ghia had a hand in the design.

My mom inherited a 1957 Golden Hawk in 1961 from her brother when he passed way and in 1966 when I got my driver's license, I was gifted that Golden Hawk as my first car. It was a sharp looking car and was no slouch when you push down on the gas pedal!

Damn! A sticker price of $4815 for a production Ford Thunderbird! My parents, when I was 7 years old, 1958, build their first house, 1,400sqft in Suburban Chicago for $8,000! The house is still there, worth $385,000! 🤪👍

My late grandfather owned a '57 Packard Clipper. He drove at a leisurely pace (in other words, dead slow). My next door neighbor was a hot rodder. He takled Grandpa into letting him remove the McCullough blower, retune the Packard for normal asipration, and mount that supercharger on his hot rodded Ford.

Had 5 Studes. Four Hawks. Use to b.s. with parent /neighbor whose son was in band “KISS”. We both loved our Hawks! Wow, 60 years ago.

I'd take the T Bird since you asked. The Hawk is very cool but silly-looking. The T-bird was really sharp-looking.

The original 53 Commander V8 started the evolution/bastardization of the Lowie Studio Design. <br>Dad loved Studebaker; we had three growing up. I learned to drive on a '53 Commander V/8, three on the tree. Dad let me put 3in lowering blocks and spun aluminum lake hub caps and dual glass packs on her. That Loewy Coupe design was way ahead of its time. Our last was a '56 Golden Hawk with Packard's 352 cubic-inch V8, spun aluminum dash with Stewart Warner gauges, matching speedo & tach. <br>A Muscle Car before the Muscle Cars. <br>I was king of the Pack in '58. <br>Ahh, the memories. Keep 'em alive.

My Father worked for Studebaker in Corporate Service. He had a number of their cars on the test track, including an Avanti he had up to 160mph on the test track.
