Nice job. Well written and presented with some interesting content. <br><br>A minor criticism - if you’re referring to a Packard, Mercury or Edsel, it makes more sense to show a representative example rather than continuing to loop through images of Chryslers.<br><br>Also, I checked your other videos and noticed that you aren’t responding to your viewers. That’s one of the best ways to build momentum for small channels.

I loved them back then and again now. I had a Dodge, and Imperial with the mechanical buttons. My most recent two cars, a Honda, and a Lincoln have had modern Electronic versions of the buttons. Several other car makers are using them too, however all are now on the Right side, not left.

The loss of push button transmission selection was due to Federally mandated standardization of transmission controls. This also required GM to redesign its selectors moving reverse to in between park and neutral as on FoMoCo selectors.

The only problem was that when the pushbuttons got some wear they would often go somewhat sideways and stick below the metal cover plate and you had to unscrew the plate to release the button. My brother carried a stubby Phillips screwdriver in the glove box of his 1957 Plymouth for just that purpose.

My 59 Plymouth 2 dr. had the buttons and no parking pawl. It had the driveshaft parking brake. I learned quickly to make sure the parking brake was deployed! I got the car in 1980 from the original owner with 40,000 orig miles , always garaged rust free California car with no heater! [granny started driving on the wrong side of the road] .

the powerflite transmission was not the Same transmission as the torquflite they were diffident in major ways <br> interesting look back funny thoughts years after both had there places
