  its a small detail but katniss missing the shot at <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFihkY3quz8&amp;t=1537">25:37</a> wasnt due to nervousness, and its one of the things you miss out on without her narrating! she missed because shes used to her father&apos;s hand-strung bow, but the capitol&apos;s bow is much more tightly strung, and thus affects her aim. its actually a testiment to how skilled she is, considering it only takes her a single shot to get used to it!

  A cool difference in the books is that they’re narrated directly from Katniss’s perspective - which means that when she’s in the Games, we hear how much she thinks about how her actions will look to the people watching. &nbsp;She’s constantly calculating how to play to the cameras and gain audience support, whether it’s making sassy quips like “maybe you should throw the sword!” or kissing Peeta when she’s sure the cameras will be broadcasting them.<br><br>And when she lays flowers on Rue, it’s partly as a kindness and partly because she wants to shame the audience for daring to take pleasure out of watching their deaths.<br><br>And it also makes it clear that Katniss never even <b>considers</b> the possibility that Peeta might genuinely be in love with her (and not acting) until the Games are over.

  They never explain it in the movies, but three finger salute means basically gratitude, respect, and farewell which is why they did it for Katniss.

  Haymitch being an alcoholic makes so much sense. he is the only one from his district that has won the hunger games. every year he mentors these kids and every year they die, it’s so sad.

  Theres a scene that didnt made the final cut but it was such an important one in my opinion! <br><br>After Rue&apos;s death District 11 send Katniss a small loaf of bread as a game gift with the note &quot;with gratitude, from the people of District 11&quot;. That was a historical moment bc it was the first time ever a district sent a gift to a tribute from another district.

  The movies don’t show how Peeta actually misleads the careers away from Katniss. The movies also don’t show that Peeta’s mom is abusive and his dad is just uninvolved. He burnt the bread on purpose so he could give it to Katniss who was starving. His mom was mad at him for burning it and told him to give it to the pigs.<br>Also at the end it’s Peeta who is pointing to Cato’s hand for Katniss to shoot him there.
