Thanks for such an in depth discussion of this machine. By the time a machine is built to such a level of quality and polish, the costs add up. This looks like a no expense spared, no compromise design.

It's awesome that this works so well! Wish it was more affordable, though! My local record store uses it for their cleaning, and they have a cleaning service, Might look into having them clean a few for me! Thanks for the info!! Always appreciated. Love the newsletter!

As a Chemist I use Liquinox and a vinyl vac. It works very good. I am happy 😊

I have it and I love it. I feel everyone’s pain about it’s cost. I am definitely blessed I could afford it. I do not use the second tank for a rinse cycle, and have experienced no detriment. The records come out beautiful. The flexibility of the different settings are great. I usually clean brand new records with the 2 setting, and used records I have acquired at the 4 setting to be conservative. What’s great is later on if you experience stubborn dust on a record, you can do a quick wash at the 1 setting. You can even just run a record through a rinse cycle on its own (without the cavitation); that speeds things up considerably. The only negative I can state is that the dry cycle is kind of loud. I have the Degritter in my music room. Don’t expect to listen to music comfortably when the Degritter is drying, unless you can put it in a different room. This is a minor inconvenience, as I usually set a record to wash and leave the room for a few minutes to do something else productive.

I bought the Degritter a month ago and I’m more than thrilled with it. For example, just the other day I cleaned a first pressing of a Muddy Waters record. I’ve had the record for a year and have cleaned it thoroughly several times with a Knosti, but unfortunately it sounded musty and muffled, so I assumed the pressing was poor. After cleaning it in the Degritter, the record sounds phenomenal—airy with brilliant highs. Unbelievable. Many of my records really do sound better after being cleaned with the Degritter; I hadn’t expected that at all.
Since buying the machine, I haven’t even come close to recouping the cost! That’s not true of any of my other hi-fi purchases!
For me, it’s an almost perfect machine, though it does have to go through the cooling cycle quite often when you wash a lot of records in a row. But otherwise: I highly recommend it!

I’ve had the Degritter Mkll for several years. I don’t use a second tank for rinsing for the same reason I don’t have their custom cover-cost. Instead I use my Okki Nokki for rinsing with distilled water to remove any lingering agent dried on the record. It’s been a fabulous addition to my listening experience.
Justifying the purchase belongs to the music lovers. We pay more for premium pressings, steak, clothes etc. etc. To each their own.
You enter the world with nothing and you leave with nothing 😊. Thank you to the Estonian people who made the Degritter possible. 🍻

Nice vid! I’ve owned a Degritter II for almost two years. Previously I used two Spin Cleans, the second was for the rinse cycle. I then added a KAB EV-1 record cleaner attachment to a vacuum cleaner. I even made a YT video using it. I got tired of spreading the Spin Cleans, KAB EV-1, a vacuum cleaner attachment and a drying rack in my living room to clean 20-25 LPs. I bought my Degritter through Music Direct at around $3300 and financed it over 6 months.

It’s a wonderful device as described in this video. I watched a ton of reviews before buying it. I think of it as a piece of my stereo gear and it’s a long-term investment to make my listening experience better, period. I’m tired of the long physical process of cleaning LPs. It’s very expensive and a unique machine. The box of foam filters is also expensive, so I try to clean them and get as many uses as possible before discarding. It’s like moving from washing your dishes in a sink to using a dishwasher. Load the machine and press the start button.
