Good review! I worked as a security guy at KGER in So Calif. for a few years, right after uni. When they were replacing the old transmitter building, I grabbed a few 16" transcription discs and a player. A few years later, I donated the discs, which included radio station ads for "Dewey for president" and live coverage from the station rooftop of VJ day, to the Museum of Television and Radio in NYC.

............Whenever people talk about record players they never mention Garrard .Back in the 70's I got a SP25 Mk4 then a SP25 Mk5 which I still use today . When CD's came out ( apart from no occasional static ) they never really sounded much better than my old turntable , amp and speaker set up .

1958 - stereo recording started to appear on record stores.<br><br>And yes I only started getting into CDs by 1998.
