  Specialty lubes are stunningly profitable.  Consider that Costco is selling Dexos licensed motor oil for under 3 bucks a quart and probably breaking even.  They make all their profit on the memberships.  You can compare that to other brands, ask yourself what is their incremental added cost in base oil  (PAO) and everybody buys their add packs from the same small number of companies.

  AI states for typical consumer pick a name brand full synthetic and change your oil as recommended.  If your vehicle has turbos, VVT, and maybe direct injection more frequent changes at 5000 miles.  A quality air filter is good.  A good fuel work’s synergistically with oil as gas, makes it by the piston rings as blow by.  Top 5 gasoline brands.  Premium has more detergents.

  I had a Lincoln mkz AWD turbu.I ran cam2 synthetic blend changed every 4000 and traded at 90000 m ran great I just wanted a challenger.

  Amsoil Signature Series motor oil is the best. 100% synthetic motor oil and group IV.

  Whatever your owner manuals states.  Send your oil off for analysis.

  Due to the Iranian conflict, both Mobil 1, Pennzoil Ultra Platijum and others, this vvideo is outdated. No more GTL…no more PAO in quantities this video claims. We’re back to emergency group III base stocks with some no longer able to carry manufacture specs.

  People can't afford Amsoil every 5k they cannot compete with Mobil 1, their prices are too high, Amsoil only survives on the "Extended" OCI theory. Most do not subscribe to that.

  Mobil 1 was always my last choice, historical experience it has failed in 2 separate time frames because of compromised formulation. Pennzoil is heading down that road as we speak. I always add esters at half life regardless of brand.

  No group 3 beats group 4 or 5, 3 may be equal to 4 or 5 up to roughly 7,000 miles in everyday drivers, but add turbo or towing and the group 3 will fall behind.  If I'm running a high end performance car, it's Amsoil due to being a better price than Redline.  My grocery go getters get the best priced group 3, Supertech, or Kirkland Full synthetics
