  My friend Willie smoked cigarettes, he lit them with a match never had a car with a lighter. One day he bought a new early 70's Gran Prix and bragged it had a lighter. That night driving down the road he lit one up and tossed the lighter out the window!

  In 1986, my dad bought a 1966 Pontiac 2+2 with a tri-power 421. I was 14 years old. I learned to drive in that car. Drove it to school everyday from when I was 16 until I was 20, and in college. I joined the military after two years of university, and the car stayed at home. Went in a private, and retired 25 years later as a Lieutenant Colonel. My last duty station was at Los Alamitos, in Huntington Beach. I had the car shipped to me from Arkansas, and had a full restoration done on it, painting it back to its original, beautiful Candlelight Cream color. Not many people can say they’ve owned the same car for 40 years. Nice to see a 2+2, even a 67’ getting some love, as nobody knows what these cars are.

  Is it only me? I enjoy more the videos of Jay’s personal cars. I respect and appreciate when he highlights cars owned by others but the joy when he talks about his cars come through more. Thanks for sharing these vehicles to people like me who will never get that experience otherwise.

  So many memories! My mother had the 1966 convertible model, white with black interior. She was a speed demon. I was four years old and she’d drive is way out in the country. She’d stop, we would count down from 5 and she’d punch the gas and I’d giggle and we’d laugh. Loved the g-force and the rumble of the engine… Jay, I wanted to thank you for this video. Mom died 10 years ago and I just relived all those happy days watching you. <br><br>It really was a special car. It went through exhaust pipes like crazy, always special order. Always long waits at the parts counter until they found the model. Wish I had it today. Thanks again Jay!
