  When you see the dinosaurs from a distance it is CGI but when you see them up close it&apos;s animatronics

  Nedry isn’t Hammond’s son. He called him dad sarcastically. <br><br>The special effects in this movie were a mix of animatronic and CGI.

  that baby raptor coming out of its egg and the triceratops laying down breathing heavily were peak practical effect back then, and even now it looks great .

  The actually made a full sized version of the T.Rex. An entire full sized animatronic! You can watch a lot of behind the scenes stuff on YouTube and see how it looked. Stan Winston who did the practical effects was such a talent. <br><br>I also like the designs of the ford explorer cars. And the night vision goggles match the car colours too!

  When this was released in the Summer of 1993 we saw it 6 times in theaters as a kids. That&apos;s how epic it was. When CGI was new and blended beautifully with practical effects. Not completely depended on as it is now. To think Spielberg was making this and Schindler&apos;s List at the same time, now THAT&apos;S Chaos. I will never forget feeling the steps of the T-Rex as the water ripples with everyone around me in the theater...One of the greatest cinematic experiences ever.

  I think the first Jurassic Park as a facility was meant to be like a safari park rather than a zoo or resort like Disneyland. &nbsp;Or was super early in development, especially with how easily it was gutted with problems. &nbsp;It&apos;s a classic concept where the technology is too immature and not ready for primetime, but the executives were to eager to show it off.
