  If we didn&apos;t have aircon already this advert would swing it. <br>Don&apos;t forget to tell the folks that a 5kW system does not use 5kW of electricity, but is the heat transfer rate. <br>We have a total 6kW installed which cools 1/2 our bungalow and they use about 600-800W combined on a very hot day.<br>Our Mitsubishi system was done 8 years ago and still works the same as the day it was installed, so very reliable,<br>Aircon + solar panels are also a perfect combination.

  We love our system, it&apos;s 33C outside at the mo. in South Oxfordshire and I&apos;m working at the dining room table where the internal temp is set at 25C and the air is dehumidified and it&apos;s lovely. &nbsp;It was well worth the &nbsp;money and is so quiet compared to our previous stand alone system with duct hanging out of window.

  my AC guy just quoted me almost the same. 2.5kw £1500 fully installed with a 6M max pipe length and outdoor unit installed on the ground. I ended up going for a 3.5kw in the living room and 2.5kw in the bedroom which pushed it up to £2150. He said there is no extra installation cost with adding another unit in the other room, just the price of the wall unit and a condenser (outdoor unit) that can allow 2 wall units to plug into aka a multi split instead of a single split. I&apos;m on a first floor flat and condenser installed just above head height which he said didn&apos;t effect the installation price.

  I&apos;ll probably take heat for this but nearly £7k for 3 bedrooms is absolutely insane. Considering a high end multi split 3 head unit can retail for around £1700, plus installation ancillaries of about another £600, charging over £4500 for installation is crazy.

  1500 for 2.5K is kind of not cheap. <br>small is good as no need to rewire high power electricity. <br>of course good pipework is required but that cost is a bit too high.
