We installed a fujitsu split system over 20 years ago for cooling a bedroom as I worked night shift and needed to sleep in the hot summer days. It has run reliably for the whole time and the outside units has never even been serviced! It was installed for just a bedroom but if you leave the bebroom door open it cools the whole of our open plan house! I heartily recommend this maker. Great video. I think when we need to eventually replace the Fujitsu, we may go for one of the Daikin you mentioned. I even screen printed your data sheet for later ;)

As an Australian I'll add my comment from the other side of the world that the Japanese brands are generally seen as the premium products and the ones to get if you can afford it.

Daikin, Fujitsu, Mitsubishi and Panasonic are all very common here and pretty well regarded. Toshiba not so common but also generally considered a good brand.

One of the best videos for explaining in a clear and concise way what all the technical jargon means. Great to have a spreadsheet at the end pulling all the info together. Definitely has helped me confirm my choice - Daikin Perfera.

As an ac engineer the only units you need to be looking at are Daikin (Rolls Royce) Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Mitsubishi Electric and Fujitsu. Then honourable mentions Panasonic Hitachi LG

Thanks for this video - it's certainly a useful start for researching this subject.

When you mention the Midea lasting less, what are the usual faults that A/C machines have that cause trouble? in what way are higher end machines more reliable than the others? Is there anything the home owner can do about it?

No mention of Toshiba? Would have also been more useful with detail on cost & availability of spares for through-life considerations.
