  Wolf spiders are pretty much the North American counterpart of the Aussie Huntsman (there is a species of Huntsman spider native to the Southwest, though). &nbsp;Large, but generally harmless, and excellent pest control. &nbsp;They also can purr, apparently.

  The “Highly Venomous” Wolf spider, has a negligible bite, with initial bite being worst part because some of them have enough size to be mistaken for small tarantulas. They make for great house guests as they keep other spiders and nuisances from your home. Their poison is the equivalent of a minor wasp sting, unless you’re allergic, then hospital. <br><br>Had one I fed that was as big as my hand (leg to leg length).

During the Age of Sail, since these birds never encountered humans before, they were not afraid of them, and so freely landed on ships and even life rafts. They were then easily hunted and used as food. This behavior of freely approaching something that wants to eat you might explain the name.

  Moreparz actually made a comment underneath the cranberry short explaining that he mixed up Wolf Spiders for a different one (idr which) so while they will still climb you while you&apos;re picking berries, they&apos;re not as dangerous as the short said

Now this isn‘t just badass and sounds like a CS Sweat name, but it also comes from the usual number of remains found on empty Shrike „nests“ before they change location.

  Australian born here. Wolf spiders and Huntsman spiders are generally harmless to humans. They eat pests though. Even other venomous spiders.<br><br>I personally had a Huntsman spider in my house but they&apos;re pretty chill eating flies, other venomous spiders, mosquitoes and other pests.<br><br>If you see one, you can either leave it alone or keep it as a pet. Just note they&apos;re gonna jumpscare you.
