  When I went on my rant about Dire Wolves, my biggest concern is that the company is marketing them as bringing back the &quot;Dire Wolf&quot; and that is not what they did at all, They genetically modified a living relative and inserted multiple genes of the dire wolf into a grey wolf making them still a distinct canid. I don&apos;t like how the PR for this company was handled and how they basically lied to the public about the Dire Wolf coming back AND how it was introduced to the generally public prior to the science research community first, the reason behind this was for funding aka making it a PR stunt.<br><br>BUT they are making a bunch of cool advancements, and finding new techniques to be applicable to species conservation, which at the end of the day is a fascinating development. In the end only time will reveal the true trajectory of the company and whether it follows through on it&apos;s promises or not. That is why I am so hot and cold on it as of now! :_SaphHeart: Actions speak louder than words as the saying goes :_SaphCoffee:

  Wojtek retired to the Edinburgh zoo after the war. When his old soldier friends came to visit him, he would salute them and, to the horror of onlookers, the soldiers would jump into Wojteks enclosure and wrestle with him.

  Polish person here. Wojtek is best boi. &nbsp;He is a polish military legend. Literally if you are in polish history class, and you have a lesson about Monte Casino, Wojtek always comes up.

  Just popping in to provide some additional Wojtek stories.<br><br>First, Wojtek once rooted out a spy. A german soldier had infiltrated the company&apos;s ranks, and at one point was sneaking around, and saw Wojtek. He then proceeded to scream, which led the company to realize he couldn&apos;t have gotten into their base officially, as all new recruits were informed about Wojtek beforehand. And because he was the reason the spy was found in the first place, Wojtek was given credit for the capture.<br><br>Second, Wojtek did in fact survive the entire war, and after the company was dissolved at the end of the war, he lived out the rest of his life in retirement at Edinburgh Zoo in Scotland. During those years, he was visited quite often by his former comrades, many of whom he recognized, and who would throw him beer and cigarettes as treats, as well as happily following orders in Polish. <br><br>Also, less a story and more a fun fact, Wojtek would only eat cigarettes if they were lit, and would spit out non-lit ones. <br><br>Based bear be based.

  Point of fact your honour: Private Wojtek was in fact very well liked by the Polish officer corps. For a short time after they first got him the enlisted men tried to keep him a secret but he got bored and wandered away from his handler and into a briefing. The assembled soldiers watched in horror as Wojtek went up to the officer (if memory serves he was a captain but don&apos;t quote me on that) and started pawing at his leg asking for attention. The captain paused his briefing for a moment, looked down at Wojtek, scooped him up, cradled him like a baby and continued like nothing happened. At the end of the briefing he basically went &quot;now one last thing, what is this bear&apos;s name? ... Very well, formal taskings for Wojtek&apos;s care and handling will be posted within the hour. Dismissed&quot;.<br><br>It was the British that had the no mascots rule.<br><br>Oh and once on leave in Italy when Wojtek was fully grown some of his mates took him down to the beach and being very excited Wojtek charged down the dunes to play in the ocean scaring the stuffing out of a couple of women previously enjoying the sunshine despite the assurances of &quot;Do not worry! He is good bear!&quot;

  So, interesting fact. Dan Povenmire, one of the writers of Phineas and Ferb, colored Perry that teal color before the discovery of their biofluorescent capability as well as their iconic sound.

  Even Steve Irwin did not trust cassowary. If he ever had to get into their closure he always had 1-2 people watching the birds. If he didn&apos;t trust them, you def need to keep your distance.<br><br>Also, Saphwyn&apos;s laugh/chuckle is so damn cute &lt;3

  Most deaths from cone snails, if I understand correctly, are from people (probably mostly tourists) seeing a pretty shell at the beach and picking it up, only to get stung by the snail that’s still using that shell. &nbsp;I’ve heard stories of people picking one up only for a nearby local to notice, run over, and slap it out of their hands.

  Additional note about the anteater - the claws are already scary on their own, but even better, anteaters walk on their knuckles for the sole purpose of keeping their claws as sharp as possible, like a low-tech version of a cat&apos;s retractable claws
