  “I hope there’s no crashes” oh boy…. Isle of Man TT started in 1907. There have been 269 fatalities. That’s an average of over 2 deaths per year that this event happens. Thankfully, although there was a crash, nobody died this year. But in 2005 TEN people died. It’s the deadliest race in the world. Pretty wild but sick as hell. Legendary stuff.

  Craig Doyle used to interview the contestants during the 90s and early 2000s. He said after doing that gig for a few years he stopped getting to know the family and riders because a few would always die each year. The wild thing is its an accepted thing amongst the biker community. If you go then there is a chance you arent comming back. I cant remember what podcast he was on but he got super emotional about it because you literally are interviewing dead men who 30 mins later would just not make it and that broke him as a journalist. Its an amazing event that has gotten a lot safer but back in the day, not too long ago it was brutal. A true test of speed and trying to cheat death at every turn.

  They aren&apos;t private roads, they&apos;re public, but they&apos;re closed for 2 weeks. They get one week to practice before a week of racing. The practice is needed as the circuit is about 38 miles long. The races are 6 laps, i.e. 226 miles.
