  The sadest, but somehow most impressive thing wasn´t mentioned in this vid: Michael Dunlop, who has now 36 victories and still is racing, lost his uncle Joey, his father Robert and his brother William on the racetrack. Both his brother and his father died in race events he himself took part in. After he witnessed his father die in a practice run, he climbed on his bike the next day and won the race, leaving the whole crowd, the competitors and himself in tears. It takes a giant amount of courage, but also selfishness to do that. A different breed!

  The person you saw thrown off the cliff survived, and once he was okay again, he came back to race it`s wild :P

  Have a look at some of the rally group b races in the early1980's. Amazing cars in all sorts of weather and the even more crazy fans who flocked at the road edge and onto the track itself to see their favourites.

  Even with modern advancements, it's still incredibly dangerous. Here in the UK, it actually makes the news when someone DOESN'T die during the entire event, that's how rare that is. But I'm firmly of the opinion that, as the risks are so out in the open and never sugar-coated, there's no reason to ban it.

  "fun fact": 2024 was only the second time in its 124 year history, that there were no fatalities in that years races, 1982 being the first.

  Even falling off at high speed, if the rider slows down gradually, they can survive pretty much unharmed. It's sudden stops with houses, walls, street furniture and trees that kills.

  That guy that went of the side of the mountain in that turn broke about every bone in his body including his back, and as soon as he recovered from that he went straight back to race.

  Congratulations. You&apos;re the first American reactor who said &quot;Hold on. they AVERAGE 130mph&quot;. You got the implications immediately. It goes over most peoples&apos; heads.<br>Although the technology makes things safer it also increases the speeds, so generally, the danger has been a constant. People die most years.

  The fastest woman around the Isle of Man TT course is Jenny Tinmouth, who set the female lap record at an average speed of 119.945 mph in 2010

  My late father-in-law was born and brought up in the I.O.M. and used to tell me about watching the TT in the 1920s I was a biker at the time.
