Thank you all for supporting the video! It was a significant undertaking on our part and we appreciate all the comments and likes. The U.S. healthcare system isn’t just broken—it’s built this way. From denied care to skyrocketing costs, greed fuels every part of the system, leaving patients to suffer while corporations profit. It’s time we stop accepting this as normal.

My mom was in the hospital in December. The dr recommended she be admitted to a pulmonary rehab facility asap, but United Healthcare denied the claim for no reason. Literally, they didn't even give a bs reason -- just zero reason, automatic denial, probably using AI. So she had to be moved to a small room in the hospital and lie there for ten days while they appealed the denial. And that's where we celebrated Christmas, in her tiny hospital room. It was not only depressing, but being bedridden weakened her even more, so by the time she got to rehab they basically told us there was nothing they could do. They sent her home to die, courtesy of United. My sister and I made a Luigi ornament and hung it on the tree in his honor. And some people wonder how anyone can celebrate murder, when murder is the healthcare companies' business!

I don't understand how you can pay for insurance every month but when you need it, it can choose to pay.

I'd say that American healthcare is not broken. It's working exactly as intended, and that is THE PROBLEM.

A friend of mine said it so simply: Luigi killed the U. S.’s most prolific serial killer.

“Would we drive a car if the only option we had was a lambo? No.” That was beautifully said.

Weirdly enough, I heard an argument a few years ago against universal healthcare. This guy said “there would need to be a tax and people don’t like taxes!”
So let me get this straight. We pay endless amount of taxes for stupid shit including funding war overseas, but we can’t pay a tax for healthcare? I’d be happier knowing a part of my taxes are going to make sure my neighbor can focus on getting better in their time of need without wondering if they will go bankrupt.

And please don’t give me the usual shit of “saving up enough for unexpected emergencies”. Read a story about a guy whose wife had brain cancer. They followed the rules all their lives and had 200k sitting in the bank. 6 months later and the wife had passed away while all that money was gone and the husband had to sell the house.

I wasn’t born in the US so god forbid I have to deal with such an illness I can fly back to Europe and get treatment for free. Ridiculous how taking advantage of a persons worst times is all about making a profit and people think it’s normal.

The establishment is still shook to the core for all the support Luigi got. Nice reality check for them

I’m a surgeon who specializes in tumors. Because my patients require surgery for treatment and to prevent further harm or risk to their life, denials are unacceptable.

I, therefore, must spend up to 2 hours weekly (unpaid) to appeal these denials. And my staff probably spends 10x this time weekly - and none of this is for patient care.

All this, just to do what is right and required. To do the things that would otherwise bring a malpractice suit or jeopardize my license.

And it’s getting worse - not better. The physicians have no power in this dynamic. The people have to demonstrate their power and stand up for what’s important to them. However, healthcare finances are so complicated that most don’t even know about it until they or someone they love gets real sick

The more I listen to this, the more I am a Luigi Mangione Supporter. The more CEO should have to fear personally, I’m not capable of doing what Luigi did, but do I support his reasoning, thousand percent.
